NINE YEARS OF
“VISIONS OF UNITY”
RECOGNITION FOR 265 STUDENTS
In the nine years of the Visions of Unity student arts contest for Torrance Schools, 265 youth have been recognized for exceptional use of creativity to communicate and express ideals in a way that broadens minds and touches hearts. Over $18,000 in awards have been provided by supportive community donors and presented to the winners.
The following high schools are represented by student winners: Torrance High 42, North High 89, South High 81, West High 41, Shery High 6, and Bishop Montgomery 1, 5 unidentified.
The contest organizers wish to thank the outstanding teachers who have encouraged their students to reflect on their role in resolving critical community issues, to artistically express their unique ideas and ideals, and to take initiative in enhancing unity among diverse groups within their community.
At the tenth annual contest celebration at Torrance Memorial Medical Center on March 22, 2010, we will acknowledge the teachers who encouraged their students to participate in Visions of Unity.
