* We invite you to share your work in the 10th annual Visions of Unity contest.  The contest was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King whose birthday marks the contest’s deadline of Jan. 15, 2010. The theme of the 10th Visions of Unity contest is “Living the Dream” – the dream being your vision of cultivating unity and harmony within your community.  Let your best thinking find its way into your creative expressions as you write, sculpt, paint, or otherwise express your vision of unity that helps us all cross the cultural divide and forge new bonds as members of one human family.

Please note: An entry unrelated to the thematic guidelines will not be selected, even if it is exceptional work.  More details on the thematic guidelines for the Visions of Unity are available on the entry form and at www.visionsofunity.com.

* Entries will be evaluated by professionals in the appropriate field who will judge the works according to the following criteria: 1) effective treatment of the theme; 2) originality and creative use of the medium; and 3) mastery of the art form, including grammar and technical details.

* All contestants who place 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Honorable Mention will publicly present their work at the Monday, March 22, 2010 Visions of Unity Awards Celebration. Their work will also be published in the annual Visions of Unity literary anthology. Winning entrants will receive cash awards thanks to the generosity of the sponsors and donors below.
