The Road to Acceptance 
Roads are typically flat and smooth, 
This road was like a terrible roller coaster. 
Acceptance is hard to find,
Especially when the people you see as kin, have a harsh and strict mind. 


I am that black sheep, 
Being accepted was no easier than climbing Mt. Everest. 
It was easier to just hide who I really was, 
But the truth always has a way of showing itself. 


The road to acceptance was thousands of miles long. 
I was prepared for this journey; 
Was I wrong for wanting to seek it? 
Or was I strong? 


The pathway to acceptance was a long and difficult one, 
Unity is much more powerful than any military weapon. 
People cannot change for just anyone, 
We change for those we care about. 


Acceptance is the key to unity, 
Being different is what makes unity work.
