Since 2000 when the first Visions of Unity student arts and literature contest for Torrance Schools was held, 411 students have won over $25,000 from supportive community donors in recognition of their exceptional visions of unity.
The following high schools are represented by student winners (in order of most winners): North High 158, South High 104, West High 76, Torrance High 51, SoCal ROC 13, Shery High 7, and Bishop Montgomery 1.
The contest organizers wish to thank the outstanding teachers who have encouraged students to reflect on their roles in resolving critical community issues, to artistically express their unique ideas and ideals, and to take initiative in enhancing unity among diverse groups within their community.
